Raw Data Export

Edited

The Raw Data Export provides the most detailed, respondent-level view of your survey data. It downloads as an Excel (.xlsx) file and contains all survey responses, along with metadata that can be used for data cleaning, quality checks, and deeper analysis.

File Structure

The export includes two tabs:

1. Responses

This is the primary dataset. Each row represents one respondent, and each column represents a survey question or metadata field. You’ll find:

  • Respondent ID – The unique identifier for each participant

  • Date & Time Completed – Timestamp of survey completion

  • Survey Duration – How long the respondent took to complete the survey

  • Supplier Source – Indicates the panel or source from which the respondent came

  • Individual Responses – Answers to each question the respondent was exposed to

All survey response data is shown in coded format for ease of filtering, pivoting, and quality review.

2. Data Map

The second tab serves as a legend for interpreting response data.

  • A value of 1 indicates that the response option was selected

  • A value of 0 means the response option was not selected

  • A blank cell means the respondent was not exposed to that question (for example, due to skip logic or routing)

Working with Raw Data

The Raw Data Export is most often used during the data cleaning process. You can use it to identify:

  • Speeders – Respondents who complete significantly faster than average

  • Laggers – Respondents who take unusually long

  • Low-quality responses – Such as patterned answers or open ends that fail attention checks
